*cues Kelis's song*
Honestly, this place is not even known for their pop art milkshakes, but I can tell you that when I saw them on Instagram, it really caught my attention. There was one with cotton candy just sitting and looking like a cup of diabetes, then there was one like the one pictured above. I got this for my cousin and I. Anywho, it is vanilla ice cream (+ the shake) coated in fruity pebbles, then topped with a rice krispy. Man what... Forget that I'm lactose intolerant, I got it regardless.
The restaurant is a new sausage joint called HalfSmoke. I figured it was a timely visit with my cousin's birthday (it was also a day after the official opening), so we went to try this thing out. Upon walking in, you are just welcomed with a very chill ambiance. And literally. There's couches, board games, a foosball table, a sweet looking bar that serves a whole lot of brews and seats, and oh, these cool bamboo seats hanging from the ceiling.
I was a bit overwhelmed with the menu toppings. Like a newbie, I added everything and anything that looked good to my Thai chicken smoke. I also caved in and got a lamb smoke because seriously... when do you have time to even get a lamb smoke? I topped my food with everything, #YOUNAMEIT: chili, rosemary ginger aioli sauce, cilantro, their mustard slaw, pickle relish, tomatoes, onions, everything.
There were a variety of options, even a vegetarian would be satisfied here. You not only have the option of getting a smoke served in their housemade buns, but you can get a bowl, flatbread or salad version. Of course, there are many other items that I didn't get to eat like their tater tots or sweet potato fries.
Can I also add that I got the mini funnel cakes before I left, too? They're so cute, lol. See the full menu for more.
